Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Season 1

What came first: The chicken, or the egg?
That question has been a favorite of theologians and fans of science fiction throughout human history. Theologians often wonder about the exact methods of our world’s creation, did God actually create a nest of eggs on the fifth day of creation from which all manner of birds came forth? Or did he simply create the animals themselves?
Science Fiction fans love the question because of a little thing called a paradox (or temporal paradox). Basically, a temporal paradox is a situation in which a time traveler causes, through actions in the past, the exclusion of the possibility of the time travel that allowed those actions to be taken. An example would be if you were to travel back in time and kill your own grandfather before your father were even conceived. If that occurred, you would never be born and therefore never able to kill your own grandfather. Get it?
Well, fans of the Terminator Universe are generally big fans of time travel and paradoxes, but also of the idea of FATE. Fate has a definite role in the Terminator Universe, but describing that role would take several more paragraph’s at least. I believe it’s sufficient to say that in the Terminator Universe, there are two different ways you can look at FATE.
Viewpoint 1 = “There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.” Or, in other words, fate is an illusion, you make your own destiny.
Viewpoint 2 = “Judgment Day is inevitable. It’s in your nature to destroy yourselves.” Or, in other words, fate exists and try as hard as you like, you can’t change “the big picture”.
So, if you’re coming into this without ever seeing any of the Terminator films, then you’re probably a bit behind. You’ll probably want to download the first TWO films at least and possibly the third, but it’s not absolutely needed. The reason the third film isn’t an absolulte necessity is that the very first episode of the series takes the characters OUT of the current FILM TIMELINE and starts a whole new tangent. The show’s creators did this because they didn’t want to try and make the series fit in with the events as they were laid out in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, and they also were not going to try and keep up with the development of Terminator: Salvation (the fourth Terminator film installment coming this summer).
But the events of The Terminator & Terminator 2: Judgment Day do lead up to the beginning of this series and probably should be seen before this series.
I originally converted these with QUALITY in mind, not necessarily portability. So while they might be larger than what most people would convert for a Portable device, they look amazing. They are about as big as the XviD versions, but they’re better quality than the XviD versions. I converted these using a 2-Pass high-bitrate encode with Videora iPod Video Converter, using the 720p HDTV rips as sources. As you can see from the screen shots, the results are quite spectacular. The other great thing about these is they’re compatible with just about anything. They’ll play on a PC or an iPod alike, they look good on a 60” TV and you can burn them to DVD’s too if you like. Enjoy!
