- StarCraft
StarCraft (SC) is a real-time strategy (RTS) computer game introduced by Blizzard Entertainment in 1998. It is similar to Blizzard's previous hit Warcraft II, except that it has a space opera setting as opposed to a high fantasy setting. StarCraft was the best selling computer and video game of 1998[1] and was so successful that Blizzard estimated in 2004 that 9.5 million copies of StarCraft had been sold since its release (4.5 million copies in South Korea), making it the third best-selling computer game in history (behind The Sims and The Sims 2). It is praised for being a benchmark of RTS for its depth, intensity, and balanced races.

- StarCraft: Brood War
This expansion provides three new campaigns, two new units per race (3 for the Protoss), plus some new tech advancements (eg Charon boosters, an anti-air attack range upgrade for the Goliath), new music tracks and new map tilesets (eg twilight, tileset of the protoss world of Shakuras). The campaigns continue the story from where StarCraft left off: the Overmind has been destroyed with the sacrifice of Tassadar, the Protoss homeworld of Aiur has been left desolate and rampaged by the Zerg, and Infested Kerrigan is left alone in her new Zerg form.

The first of the new campaigns is the Protoss one and mostly takes place on their homeworld of Shakuras. The second campaign features the newly arrived armies of the United Earth Directorate (UED) commanded by Admiral DuGalle, and the last campaign (Zerg) has Kerrigan as the protagonist.

- StarCraft: Loomings
StarCraft: Loomings is a series of single-player mission which take place approximately a month before StarCraft Episode I. In this campaign, the player takes the role of an Alpha Squadron lieutenant. The missions are available in the Starcraft Demo or downloaded as the precursor campaign, which requires the full version of StarCraft. The demo only includes four missions, including the tutorial, while the downloadable precursor campaign includes two extra missions that fit in between the existing missions.

- StarCraft: Insurrection
StarCraft: Insurrection is a supplement for StarCraft that was released on July 31, 1998. Although produced by Aztech New Media, it is a product authorized by Blizzard Entertainment.Blizzard Entertainment authorized Retribution as an expansion pack.

The plot revolved around a little-known Confederate planet called Brontes IV, where a routine patrol fails to check in. It featured three new, full campaigns, which comprise roughly 30 Campaign missions, and more than 100 new multiplayer maps. It took place during Episode I.

The expansion pack did not require StarCraft: Brood War, and the missions could be accessed in the same manner as any fan missions, via the Custom Game screen, and selecting the first mission of the desired campaign.

- StarCraft: Retribution
Retribution, an authorized expansion pack to StarCraft: Brood War, was published in 1998 by WizardWorks Software, independently from Blizzard Entertainment.

Retribution works within the limits of the current StarCraft game engine, and does not add any explicitly new content to the game, although it does contain over 120 new multiplayer maps, and a large single-player campaign.
