Athough the more i play it, the more i hate the random leveling, still a fantastic reminder of the iconic FFVII

I'd definitely have to agree. The battle is very dynamic and not turn based.

In reality, would you wait for your enemy to strike back? I wont.

Though no one likes no indicator of leveling or when your going to level up, but nothing's perfect, and I think that the leveling was intentionally done that way so that no one would feed on lower leveled enemies with great exp, much like that abused from previous RPG games.

Actually its not random leveling tell you the truth the game does give out exp for enemies killed, but you just can't see it.... Which sucks

I originally bought Final Fantasy Tactics way, way back in 1999 for my trusty PSX (Imported it for around ฃ80!). From that point on it remained one of my favourite games ever.....perhaps there's some nostalgia colouring my opinion, but in comparison to Jeanne D'arc (which is a pretty basic SRPG) i'd definitely opt for FFT (i'd certainly argue your storyline point too!). Perhaps the lag in the PSP port is a bit annoying but the simple option is just to play the PSX game using pops.

I'd have to agree with Ostinato on this one. Tactics came out way before Jeanne. In terms of graphics, the time when FFT was released, I'd say it was top notch. Though the dragons seem to cover 4 squares...

Compared to Final Fantasy CC, its on a different level of excellence. Though the maps were small and the the allowed party per battle is a 4-6, depending on the story, it was a challenge in itself to survive boss battles WHILE hunting for rare items and stealing them.

The system is very complex. Brave, Faith, Spell compatibility/incompatibility, Combination of first and second jobs, the ever boring Daravon and the uniqueness of each special character makes its mark in the SRPG series.

You can definitely finish the game without utilizing these features, but overpowering the enemy is what's very challenging.

And the story of FFT is very complex. When I first played it I didn't care about the story, but on my 2nd run, that's when I realized why Ramza had to defeat his stepbrothers.

I've actually finished the game with Ramza's primary job as a squire and secondary as Draw, and it's very fun. My primary party was Ramza, Beowulf and Orlandu. But Beowulf was my favorite.

Love the chicken.
